Euro 2000 Remix
RR: 8.5
In the first version (see below right), the texturing was not finished yet, but this remix was a lot of fun to play - I think Spike and I must have spent around two hours there, with FeEdiKo also around to begin with, and TA's Piccolo later.  There is more to this place than meets the eye, too...little dark corridors run outside the central area, accessed behind the goals or at the halfway line.  You had to be careful at the two ends, though - if you stood so close to the doors while they swung open that they touched you, you died!  We also discovered that the big player-avatars such as Wes could not squeeze into the corridors.  A later version was much more advanced - but without the "flaring" lights that FeEdiKo helped Spike with (see below left).  At that stage there were problems with "lag"...
This Unreal Tournament ("fragball" mod) remix may take place on a soccer pitch, but it does not try to copy soccer gameplay.  It is a lot of fun to fight it, and there are a generous number of megajumps and megaspeeds around, which make gameplay more interesting - plus a shield, a megapower, the good old whomper, scattershot... most of the weapons in fact, except for the pulsator.  And lots of blue blocks to duck behind, which certainly come in useful!
The above screenshot comes from the final version; I didn't even have to switch to "fly" mode to take it, as concealed bouncers close by make it possible, with skill and agility, to get up on top of the floodlights!  Walking along the tops of the walls is also possible, but beware, as the tops themselves slowly hinge up, and unless you step over, tip you out of the stadium, into the surrounding lake of acid!  Anyway, a nice arena to have and to play.
Oh, to take a screenshot without your hand in the way, the trick is to hit [tab], then type in "SetHand Center" - followed by [line return] or however you usually enter text.  And afterwards, use "SetHand Right" or "Left" to return to your usual set-up, or you will never be sure which weapon you are holding...

An unfinished version, without the "flared" lighting.
The earlier version, with rather less texturing...
